Plan a Field Trip

Program Outline:

Students are divided into small groups to allow each student multiple opportunities for hands-on practice. The groups cycle through different learning stations, each introducing vocabulary and physical evidence through demonstration and participation, which support an idea or process.

Groups generally rotate through four learning stations:

• Boat Design
• Steam Bending
• Caulking and Trunnel Making
• Applying Simple Machines to Gain Mechanical Advantage

 Additional/Alternate Activities:

• Build Your Own Chebacco Boat Workshop (additional fee required)
• Visit to the School House, Hearse House, and the Old Burying Ground
• Storytime
