Logistics

Pricing:  Groups of 10 or more children receive a discounted admission price of $8.00 per child.  Museum memberships and passes are not valid for group visits.

Scheduling a Group Visit:  Call during Museum hours, and we'll be happy to schedule your visit.  The Shipbuilding Museum is a popular destination for group visits so book as far in advance as possible.  Please provide an accurate estimate of how many children will be part of your group.  After going over the details of your visit with the Museum's Education Coordinator, you will receive a confirmation letter in the mail requesting a 50% deposit of your total group price.  Your remaining balance will be due on the day your group comes to the Museum.

Payment:  A deposit equaling 50% of your total balance is due within 10 days of your confirmation letter’s postmark. The balance of your fee is due at the time of your arrival.  If your confirmation letter does not accurately reflect your group size, please contact the Education Coordinator immediately. Please contact the Education Coordinator prior to your visit regarding any special billing or invoicing requirements.

Chaperones:  To ensure a safe, educational, and fun experience for your group, the Shipbuilding Museum requires one chaperone for every 10 school age children.  Chaperones / teachers within the required ratio are not charged admission. Additional adults will be charged the adult group admission price of $10.00.

Groups Larger than 60:  If your group is larger than 60 children, please call the Museum to learn about special options for your group’s visit.

Eating at the Museum:  If you plan to bring a snack or lunch with you, please be sure to let the Education Coordinator know at the time you book your visit.  Our snacking areas are limited, and we will need advance notice in order to accommodate your snack and lunch space needs.

Cancellation Policy:  Should you need to cancel your reservation, please notify us in writing at least two weeks prior to the date of your visit.  Cancellation notices may be faxed to the office at (978) 768-2541.  Failure to notify us of cancellation will result in forfeiture of deposit.
