SPRING CLEAN UP AT THE SHIPYARD
Volunteers needed

The contractors have left and we are getting the yard ready for spring. We would love your help. The men in the yard have been doing a yeoman's job, but they also volunteer their time. We need people willing to clean up and help spread stone.

VOLUNTEER AT THE MUSEUM

The Essex Shipbuilding Museum is reaching out to the community in search of volunteers (see picture gallery) to join our team. It takes an amazing amount of dedicated help to run a small, but growing, museum. Can you lend a hand? Know someone who might? We have immediate need for the following positions:

Admissions Receptionist/Store Clerks
Are you a people person or even a personable people? Then help us welcome and direct the thousands of annual visitors to the Museum; ring up store merchandise; pass visitors on to our tour guides; and meet fascinating people. 7+ hours/wk on weekdays and weekends.

Tour Guides
Interpret the Museum for walk-in visitors, conducting tours around the Museum’s exhibits, shipyard, school house, burial ground and hearse house. Training provided. 7+ hours/wk on weekdays and weekends.

Educators
Would you like to teach kids something meaningful? Then lead small school, scout or tour groups in simple activities and demonstrations. Retired or substitute teachers or anyone with a strong desire to teach kids preferred. Training provided. Generally weekday mornings as scheduled.
